ISM 2025 conference

The RESISTTE project team proudly participated in the ISM 2025 — International Conference on Industry of the Future and Smart Manufacturing, held from 12–14 November 2025 at the University of Malta.
This year’s edition was particularly special for Malta’s manufacturing research community.
Prof. Emmanuel Francalanza served as the General Chair of ISM 2025, successfully leading the organisation of what became the largest International Manufacturing Research conference ever held in
Malta. The event brought together over 400 participants from across the globe, with around 300 attending in person, including leading industry representatives, renowned researchers, and key policymakers.
Dr. Tanel Aruväli contributed as part of the organising team and chaired several conference sessions, such as Intelligent Optimization in Logistics: OR, AI, and Hybrid Approaches, supporting the scientific
programme and fostering engaging discussions.
Throughout the conference, the RESISTTE team had the opportunity to exchange ideas with international experts. The project gained valuable inputs for ongoing research and established promising new contacts, opening
pathways for deeper collaboration and future discussions on resilience, AI foresight, and smart manufacturing transformation.
